Wild hearts once beat in syncopation
One life borne of love’s creation
A love to bind the hands of time
A marriage made in heaven
The years have changed the situation
Deceit has caused love’s segregation
Never a day without a lie
Truth an eternal stranger
When honesty knows no association
The only remedy — separation
With papers filed and judge decree
The bonds of marriage broken
Strong words said with exclamation
Civility suffers degradation
Tense moments masked by smiling faces
The children now must suffer
Together means stiff conversation
Good times past no consolation
Life has served with cold affection
A love, no hope of resurrection
Where is my true affiliation?
Tomorrow shields this revelation
One who knows integrity
Will share with me, affinity
